Corinthians host Barra, from Santa Catarina, on Thursday at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in the Copa do Brasil fifth-phase second leg. The night could mark centre-back Gustavo Henrique’s 100th appearance for Timão, a feat matched by only seven current squad members.

According to Meu Timao, the 33-year-old arrived from Real Valladolid in early 2024 and has 99 appearances, 95 as a starter. His record stands at 47 wins, 21 draws and 31 defeats, with titles in the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, plus the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil.

Individually, he has scored 10 goals and supplied four assists. In just over two years at the club, he is the 12th highest-scoring centre-back in Corinthians’ near 116-year history, and leads the position for goals in the decade since 2021.

This season he is the side’s second-top scorer with four goals, and forms the first-choice centre-back pairing with Gabriel Paulista under Fernando Diniz.

Of the 32 professionals, including the separated defender Renato, only seven have already surpassed 100 appearances: Yuri Alberto 230, Matheus Bidu 147, Matheuzinho 136, Raniele 136, Rodrigo Garro 128, Breno Bidon 127 and Hugo Souza 117.

The tie also carries a place in the last 16. Corinthians need only a draw after winning the first leg 1-0 at the Ressacada on 21 April, when Jesse Lingard scored.
