Haaland and Cherki on PFA Players’ Player of the Year shortlist

Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki have both been named on the shortlist for the 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

Haaland won a third Premier League Golden Boot in four seasons at City with a haul of 27 goals in 35 league matches.

Our No.9 netted eight times in the Champions League and three in the FA Cup too, as well as contributing nine assists across all competitions.

Cherki enjoyed a stellar first campaign in English football, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists across 52 appearances in all competitions.

Haaland will be hoping to win this award for a second time, having previously done so in 2022/23.

Kevin De Bruyne, in 2019/20 and 2020/21, and Phil Foden in 2023/24 are the other players to have claimed this recognition while playing for City.

Our pair will be up against Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Arsenal trio Gabriel, David Raya and Declan Rice for the award.

The winner will be announced in a special ceremony at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 25 August.
