Haaland back among the goals as City secure top eight finish | OneFootball

Manchester City booked their place in the top eight of the league stage of the Champions League with a comfortable victory over Galatasaray.

We always knew Erling Haaland was going to break his modest goalless run and he did so with style 10 minutes into the game at the Etihad Stadium. Jérémy Doku had cut through the Galatasaray backline with an excellent pass that freed the Norwegian to chip over U?urcan Çak?r.

Doku showed his class in setting up the second goal too, gliding through the Turkish defence before laying the ball off to Rayan Cherki – somehow in acres of space in the box – to finish.

From that point it was always going to be difficult for Galatasaray to get back into the game and the only truly scary moment came midway through the second half after a horrible clash of heads between former Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sánchez and substitute Tijjani Reijnders – fortunately both were able to continue.

There were some nervy moments with the games going on elsewhere but in the end Pep Guardiola's side booked their spot in the Round of 16 after an easy night in Manchester.
