Erling Haaland has made his mark on the 2026 World Cup, and so have Norway as a whole and their dedicated fans. 

The Scandinavian side are playing on the global stage for the first time since 1998 and, after stunning five-time winners Brazil on Sunday, will play in the quarter-finals.

Haaland, who sits tied at the top of the scoring charts with seven goals, scored twice to defeat the South American giants. 

As such, captain Martin Ødegaard handed him the drumsticks and encouraged the striker to lead fans inside the stadium in a classic Norway viking-style row celebration. Official broadcast teams showed fans around the world also joined in virtually.
