Pep Guardiola has named Erling Haaland on the bench in his final team selection as Manchester City manager.
Guardiola will step down from his role as Manchester City boss following today’s Premier League final-day fixture against Aston Villa. With little on the line for either team, Guardiola has opted to make changes,.
The fixture also marks the final City appearances for Bernardo Silva and John Stones, and both start. The long-serving duo will depart when their contracts expire in the summer, after nine and 10 seasons at the Etihad, respectively. Phil Foden, fresh from the disappointment of his World Cup snub, starts.
There’s no place in the squad for Erling Haaland. The Premier League’s top scorer is five clear of Brentford’s Igor Thiago and looks certain to claim a third career accolade.
Manchester City XI: Trafford; Lewis, Stones, Dias, Ak; Nico, Bernardo, Reijnders; Savinho, Foden, Semenyo.
