Stade Rennais’ 3-1 defeat at the hands of RC Lens has proven to be the final straw, with Habib Beye set to depart the club, as per a report from RMC Sport.
The loss to Lens came at the end of a week in which they lost 4-0 to a struggling AS Monaco side, before being dumped out of the Coupe de France by Olympique de Marseille in midweek (3-0).
Beye has been here before, earlier in the season, when he already had half a foot out of the door. Then, he managed to salvage the situation, but on Monday, there were fresh talks. It is RMC Sport’s understanding that the decision has now been taken to sack Beye.
As reported by L’Équipe earlier on Monday, former Lens and OGC Nice manager Franck Haise is in line to take the position when it becomes vacant, as is expected to happen in the coming hours.
