According to La Dépêche du Midi, Olympique de Marseille head coach Habib Beye was the victim of a burglary overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday at his villa in Bouches-du-Rhône, near Marseille.
The intrusion occurred around 1am on Wednesday 8 April after one or two individuals reportedly scaled the property's wall. The villa is about 30 kilometres from La Commanderie, and the break-in is said to have happened while Beye was away.
The burglars are understood to have entered through a window and left with clothing and Louis Vuitton items.
It is the latest in a series of similar incidents affecting Marseille figures, including Lucho Gonzalez and Victorino Hilton in 2011, Gunter Jacob in 2016, Dimitri Payet in 2017, Jacques-Henri Eyraud in 2019, Valentin Rongier in 2021 and Sead Kolasinac in 2023.
The investigation has been assigned to the Aix-en-Provence gendarmerie brigade.
