Dino Toppmöller, Robin Koch and Hugo Larsson describe a cohesive performance and a deserved 3-1 win at home to Hoffenheim.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “We set out to produce a good performance and whip up the crowd for us. It wasn’t easy in the temperatures but the boys did it well. I felt that we had the game under control. I’d had a good feeling all week. We have great unity and great energy in the group. It’s a lot of fun every day, and it’s even nicer that we got our reward with a win. It’s very important for everyone and so may it continue. Obviously, a performance like that raises the bar.”
Robin Koch: “There’s nothing better than walking out at this stadium at 15:30 on a Saturday, delivering a good performance and getting three points. It was a convincing display and a superb display from every individual. When you’re aggressive without the ball and put in a lot of effort, things naturally come more easily. We were confident in possession and created a lot of chances. We have the quality in every position to score goals. If we carry that onto the pitch, including from the bench, then it goes like it did today.”
Hugo Larsson: “I’m very happy about my goal. Before the season, I said I want to pop up in attack more. Now I’ve got one goal and one assist after three games, which is a good start. We had good energy. Everything’s functioning better than last season, even the spirit is different. We’ve gained a lot of quality with Rasmus and Arthur, even if Rasmus does bark a lot of orders at me (laughs).”
