Haen rescues late point as Willem II end losing start | OneFootball

Willem II drew 2-2 with Heerenveen on Sunday in Tilburg to collect their first point of the season and rise from 17th to 15th.

In the 61st minute, Uriel van Aalst steered a finish into the top left from Nathan Tjoe-A-On's breakaway cross.

Jacob Trenskow levelled (64.) from Dylan Vente's pass, and after Levi Smans came on, Oliver Braude tucked in his delivery at the back post (77.).

A brief stoppage for Devin Haen's treatment followed (78.), before the forward latched onto Calvin Twigt's through ball to slot the equaliser low (82.).

Karst de Leeuw preserved the point with a sharp stop from Braude at close range (86.), having already repelled efforts earlier in the half.

Heerenveen had 61.1% possession and recorded 13 attempts. Willem II produced 12 attempts and forced nine corners.

The result lifts Willem II from 17th to 15th with their first point of the campaign. They host Excelsior next. Heerenveen slip from eighth to ninth and host AZ next.
