With the Fenerbahçe presidential vote on 6-7 June nearing, Hakan Safi is plotting a move for Giorgi Mamardashvili to bring him to the Ülker Stadium, Fanatik reports.

The 25-year-old Georgia international, under contract at Liverpool, is understood to be Safi’s priority as he seeks to refresh a squad that again missed the Süper Lig title.

A reshuffle in goal is anticipated at Fenerbahçe this summer. Alisson Becker remains Liverpool’s established number one, and Mamardashvili is said to want guaranteed minutes, something Safi is prepared to offer.

A switch to Istanbul is considered attractive given Türkiye’s proximity to Georgia. Talks are described as preliminary, and Liverpool’s stance on a permanent deal or a marquee loan could determine the outcome in the coming weeks.

The pursuit forms part of a wider package from Safi as he duels former president Aziz Yıldırım. Yıldırım has tabled a €90 million push to tempt departing Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah to Kadıköy, while Safi’s team have also been linked with Mason Greenwood and PSG forward Kolo Muani.

Safi, a former board member under Ali Koç and credited with financing the capture of Kerem Aktürkoğlu, has pledged an unconditional title charge if elected. Securing Mamardashvili would underline that intent for any Safi administration.
