AFCON 2025 runs from 21 December to 18 January in Morocco. According to L'Équipe, 51 Ligue 1 players have been called up, and here is our XI.
France's top flight is the most represented competition at the finals. Paris FC and FC Lorient send five players each.
PSG have two call-ups. Achraf Hakimi has been injured since early November, so they will be without him for a few more weeks, though he was never likely to miss the event Morocco has been waiting for. The absence of the very young Ibrahim Mbaye, 17, Senegal, is likely to be less damaging for the reigning European champions.
OL lose their central defensive duo Mata-Niakhaté. It will be challenging for OM too, who lose only two players, but two leaders, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gabon, and Nayef Aguerd, Morocco, both unquestionable picks in our XI.
Alongside Hakimi, Aubameyang, Aguerd and Mbemba, the XI includes the season's revelations Arsène Kouassi (Lorient), Mamadou Sangaré (Lens) and Ilan Kebbal (PFC). Young but highly rated Lamine Camara (Monaco) and Mamadou Sarr (Strasbourg) also feature.
Ligue 1 stalwarts Yehvann Diouf (Nice) and Lassine Sinayoko (Auxerre) complete the selection.
