A major sigh of relief can be felt from Paris to Rabat as Achraf Hakimi has provided a promising update on his race to be fit for the Africa Cup of Nations. The Moroccan international, who was sidelined following a heavy challenge with Liverpool's Luis Díaz in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich, appears to be winning his fitness battle.

In a recently aired Canal+ report, the PSG defender was filmed diligently working through his rehabilitation, offering optimistic news about his recovery progress.

"I'm not in pain anymore. It's much better. The inflammation is gone. I'm not in pain anymore. I'm optimistic. I'm staying focused and working every day to be ready for the Africa Cup of Nations," Hakimi stated.

This positive development is crucial for Moroccan coach Walid Regragui, who is heavily dependent on his star defender for the upcoming tournament hosted on home soil. The injury had previously thrown Hakimi's participation into serious doubt. For PSG manager Luis Enrique, as well as the Moroccan Football Federation, the shared hope is now that Hakimi returns to full condition in December, ensuring he is perfectly prepared for both the continental showdown and the critical closing stages of the club season.
