Republic of Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrímsson has named a 24-man squad for the upcoming friendlies against Senegal at the Aviva Stadium and Luxembourg away.
There’s a first senior call-up for Reims midfielder John Joe, along with young Leyton Orient keeper Josh Keeley and Killian Phillips, who’s been impressing on loan from Crystal Palace at St. Mirren this season.
Shamrock Rovers defender Josh Honohan also gets his first senior call after standing out in the League of Ireland and in Rovers’ UEFA Conference League run.
Captain Seamus Coleman is back in the squad after missing the last seven games, while Leicester winger Kasey McAteer, Ipswich striker Sammie Szmodics, and Strasbourg’s Andrew Omobamidele are also included.
Festy Ebosele is recalled after missing the Nations League play-off win over Bulgaria in March.
The FAI confirmed that Hallgrímsson has left out most of his Championship-based players "to aid rest and recovery in their off-season".
Ireland will face Senegal on Friday, June 6, at 7.45pm at the Aviva Stadium, before heading to Luxembourg for the second friendly on Tuesday, June 10, at 7.45pm.
