Hamburg closing in on loan deal for Basel winger Otele

Philip Otele is on the verge of transferring from FC Basel to Hamburger SV, based on the latest reports from Sky Germany.

The 26-year-old winger will join the club on loan, however the Bundesliga side will have an option to buy him permanently in summer.

Otele primarily plays on the left flank, but can also feature on the right. His 5 goals and 4 assists in 20 league games shows promise.

Just hours after the deal with Borussia Dortmund's Almugera Kabar fell through, HSV are expected to finalize this transfer.

While the two players don't play the same position, it's quite conceivable that Otele could operate as an attacking wing-back in the future.
