There would be no snowy postponements at the Volksparkstadion today as Hamburger SV clashes with Borussia Mönchengladbach. When the final whistle sounded, both sides had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate in the Hanseatic city.

HSV made a threating start roared on by their own fans as Ransford Königsdörffer tested Moritz Nicolas. The rebound just about evaded Damion Downs as Jean-Luc Dompé thumped his follow up into the side-netting.

Torunarigha joined the attack minutes later running down the left wing. He passed into the penalty area to Fabio Vieira, who, from a tight angle, couldn't turn the ball towards goal as Königsdörffer missed again at the far post.

Both teams created opportunities as the half wore on - Remberg's effort forced a save from Nicolas but Miro Muheim couldn't punish. At the other end Tabakovic cleared the bar as Honorat's effort was cleared off the line by Capaldo.

The second-half continued in a similar pattern to the first as shots rained in on either goal. HSV went close again when Dompé whipped a delivery in from the left only for Damion Downs' header to nestle in Nicolas' gloves.

Past the hour, the match statistics read a whopping 22 goal attempts taken by the hosts despite the lack of goals. Ultimately, neither side made the breakthrough as both defences cancelled eachother, ending in a scoreless draw.
