Hamed Junior Traoré set for Genoa loan as Mason Greenwood nears Fenerbahçe move | OneFootball

The Ivory Coast international Hamed Junior Traoré, 26, is set to join Genoa on a season-long loan that includes an €eight million option to buy, with a medical due on Tuesday. Mason Greenwood, 24, has never been closer to Fenerbahçe. According to L'Équipe, both moves are shaping OM’s summer.

Traoré was part of the late August 2025 intake pitched as fresh bargains by Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia. His campaign was disrupted by injuries, with rare flashes such as against Paris-SG in the Trophée des champions on eight January 2026, a 2-2 draw then a 4-1 defeat on penalties.

He arrived in Genoa on Monday night and will complete checks on Tuesday.

Greenwood was seen at Marignane airport on Monday around midday, at Terminal two for low cost flights, while Fenerbahçe officials Oguz Çetin and Cihan Kamer were also nearby. They did not travel together. Absent from training on Friday and Monday, he took time away to recharge and consider his future.

His father and lawyer have had an agreement with Fenerbahçe’s hierarchy for three weeks on a four-year deal, as he weighed that offer against Atlético de Madrid. In recent days, the Spanish club moved close to Fenerbahçe’s financial terms.

Atlético then encountered a surprising nonchalance, with Greenwood telling OM team-mates he preferred the Atlético challenge and taking two days to reply to Diego Simeone. Coupled with his controversial history, which had already cooled several suitors from Saudi Arabia, Atlético backed away on Monday night. All signs point to Fenerbahçe, who have prepared a €40m offer plus bonuses for OM.
