Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim scored on his Barcelona U19 debut after joining the club on loan from Al Ahly.

Strong first impression in Barcelona colors

Young Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim expressed his pride after making his first appearance for Barcelona U19 and scoring his first goal for the Catalan side.

The player joined Barcelona’s youth team on 1 February on loan from Al Ahly until 30 June 2026, with option for the Spanish club to make the transfer permanent.

Abdelkarim made immediate impact in his first match helping Barcelona secure 2-2 draw against Huesca in the Spanish youth league.

He scored one goal and also won a penalty that helped his team fight back during the match.

First goal after 40 day at the club

The Egyptian striker had to wait 40 day after signing before making his debut because of delays related to his work permit. When he finally stepped onto the pitch on Sunday, he started the match and quickly showed his attacking quality.

Barcelona’s youth team confirmed his milestone on their official account on X highlighting that Abdelkarim scored in the 73 minute during his first appearance with the team.

His performance was seen as a positive start to his journey with the Catalan club especially after adapting to a new football environment.

Player reacts with pride

After the match Abdelkarim shared his feelings in message on Instagram. The young forward said he felt proud to play his first game and score his first goal for such a big club.

He also thanked the club for the opportunity and expressed his ambition to achieve more in the coming matches ending his message with encouragement for Barcelona.

Next challenge for Barcelona U19

Barcelona’s youth side will soon return to action in the Spanish U19 Copa del Rey where they are scheduled to face Deportivo La Coruña on Thursday.

The match will offer Abdelkarim another chance to continue his development and show his talent with the Barcelona academy.
