Hannover 96 have issued an update after Boris Tomiak dislocated his left elbow, with the club saying he is likely to face a spell on the sidelines and wishing him a speedy recovery.

The 27-year-old went down after a collision in his own penalty area in the 75th minute of the 0-0 draw with Dynamo Dresden.

Team doctor Hauke Mommsen put the joint back in place on the pitch, and Tomiak was carried off to applause at the Heinz von Heiden Arena, with Hendry Blank replacing him.

Further tests on Monday 23 February revealed capsular and ligament damage in the same affected left elbow.

A decision on the next steps will be made in the coming days.
