Hannover 96 turn down Paderborn club-record bid for Yokota

Hannover 96 have turned down SC Paderborn’s club-record offer for Daisuke Yokota.

Kicker reports the newly promoted Bundesliga side tabled a €2.5 million bid for the 26-year-old. Paderborn have never spent more than €1 million on a transfer in their history.

Yokota joined Hannover permanently this summer for €2 million from Gent after a successful loan.

He has scored nine goals across the past two 2. Bundesliga seasons for Kaiserslautern and Hannover.

Paderborn managing director Sebastian Lange said the club are simply sounding out prices, and that asking costs nothing even if the replies are unwelcome. He added they can make substantial offers, but whether they proceed will depend on the right fit.
