Those in a position of power at La Liga champions Barcelona maintain full faith in the talents of an under-fire member of the club’s defensive ranks.

The player in question? Ronald Araújo.

Stopper Araújo is for his part fresh off what was a hugely challenging individual campaign in 2024/25.

After spending the first half of the term sidelined owing to a long-term injury, the Uruguayan was then singled out for heavy criticism for his performances following the turn of the year.

Many of a Barcelona persuasion, in fact, went as far as to pin the blame for their side’s Champions League exit squarely on Araújo.

As alluded to above, though, despite such woes, two key figures behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital remain unwavering in their belief in the 26-year-old, adamant that he will be going nowhere this summer.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Araújo’s difficult season, with injuries and some defensive errors, will not end up taking its toll. Flick and Deco consider him a top defender, one of the best in the world.’
