Hansi Flick calls up his four chosen Barcelona gems following preseason tour | OneFootball

The Barcelona preseason tour gave Hansi Flick the chance to closely monitor some promising youngsters. After all, the Catalan club remains convinced that trusting the youth is the way to go. Fortunately, it seems that Flick was convinced by four players in particular.

Those four players would appear to be Jofre Torrents, Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Guille Fernandez, and Toni Fernandez. The reason that those four have been highlighted is due to the latest Barça training update provided by Mundo Deportivo.

As per that report, all four of those players have been called up by Hansi Flick to the first team’s latest training session. While Diego Kochen has returned to train with the reserve team, those four players trained with the big names of the first team.

Moreover, according to the same update, all four of them have the chance to potentially feature in the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Como as well. That would be a massive opportunity for the four youngsters, and it could potentially be a gateway for them to feature more often for the first team next season as well.

Throughout the preseason tour in Asia, all four of them showcased signs of brilliance. Jofre Torrents and Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez did it often and got more opportunities, but Toni Fernandez did not wait to grab his own opportunity and even score.

As for Guille, his performances were a bit more reserved, although there now seem to be rumours of potential clubs being interested in him as well.

Either way, Hansi Flick really needs to make use of these youngsters. Barcelona has always found a lot of success with their youth players, and this is Flick’s chance to find his own prodigies and help them develop to reach their potential.
