Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Robert Lewandowski could yet be cleared to play his part in the club’s upcoming showdown with Inter Milan.

Frontman Lewandowski, for his part, has spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines.

This comes owing to a hamstring injury suffered en route to Barcelona’s 4-3 comeback victory over Celta Vigo in La Liga.

The Pole, in turn, was forced to sit out the Blaugrana’s recent fixtures against all of Mallorca, Real Madrid and, most recently, Inter Milan.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest comments on the part of boss Hansi Flick are anything to go by, then the former Bayern Munich man appears to be closing on an imminent return to competitive action.

Drawn on Lewandowski’s status for next week’s Champions League semi-final return leg meeting with Inter Milan at San Siro during his latest press conference on Friday, Flick confirmed:

“Yes, Robert (Lewandowski) could be there against Inter, he’s doing well and progressing. He’s doing much better than we thought, but we have to wait. We know he’s a professional, he might be there this Tuesday.”
