Hansi Flick ‘delighted’ with pre-season performance of two Barcelona midfielders | OneFootball

New Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has been left hugely impressed by the efforts of two up-and-coming members of the club’s midfield ranks, during pre-season.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal as the pair in question.

Midfielder Casadó and Bernal have both been afforded the opportunity to impress as part of the first-team setup in Catalunya’s capital during pre-season.

And, evidently, this is a chance which the duo have grasped with both hands.

As per MD:

‘Hansi Flick is delighted with the performance of the young midfielders Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal in training, as well as with their role in the first friendly against UE Olot.’

The La Masia pair were both introduced off the bench on Thursday, as Barcelona kicked their pre-season fixture list into gear in a meeting with minnows Olot.

And Casadó and Bernal, owing to their combined excellence in possession, and hard work off it, are credited with ‘completely changing the rhythm of the match’.

It is in turn concluded that the two midfielders, amid something of an injury crisis in Hansi Flick’s engine room ranks, are likely to play their part at senior level over the early weeks of the new campaign,
