Pau Victor was signed by Barcelona on a permanent deal from Girona last summer after he impressed with 20 goals for Barça Atletic on loan during the 2023/24 season.
The 23-year-old Spaniard was signed to reinforce the senior setup and provide cover for Robert Lewandowski in the centre-forward role.
Things began well for the forward as he top-scored in the pre-season, including a double in the Clasico against Real Madrid. But the youngster has found it hard to break into the team during the course of the season.
Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick does not see Pau Victor as a replacement or alternative for Robert Lewandowski in the squad.
It must be noted that the veteran striker has been a permanent fixture in the team given his brilliant form this season. But on the occasions that Flick has opted to rest him, Victor has not been his go-to choice.

Indeed, the German tactician has often opted to field Dani Olmo as a false nine or utilise Ferran Torres as the centre-forward when Lewandowski has been given a breather.
Victor, as a result, has largely been used on the wings, with his only start of the season, against Osasuna, coming on the left flank.
Furthermore, it must be noted that Victor’s minutes off the bench have more often than been token appearances in stoppage time.
The former Girona starlet had an opportunity to leave the Blaugrana during the winter, with Galatasaray among the clubs seeking his signing.
However, even though he was going through some issues due to the registration problems, he opted to stay put.
But with Flick’s stance on him not being a Lewandowski alternative becoming clear and competition for places on the flanks being very high as well, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Victor.
