Hansi Flick hails ‘fantastic’ Barcelona star after win over Guadalajara | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has lavished praise on a member of the club’s defensive ranks, on the back of his side’s latest outing.

The player in question? Andreas Christensen.

Barcelona are of course fresh off booking their place in the next round of the Copa del Rey.

After making the trip to minnows Guadalajara, the Blaugrana were confronted with a surprisingly intense test, en route to an eventual 2-0 triumph.

The visitors’ breakthrough didn’t come until the 76th minute, when the aforementioned Andreas Christensen popped up with a rare goal.

This proved the highlight of what was a stellar all-round performance on the part of the Dane, who took full advantage of his starting status to shine on both sides of the ball.

Speaking to the media following the full-time whistle this evening, manager Hansi Flick was therefore quick to hail an often overlooked member of his squad:

“Andreas Christensen played a fantastic game today. In defence, he was really good, too.”
