Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has moved to reveal his appreciation for a leading member of his midfield ranks.
The player in question? Pedri.
Spanish international Pedri was for his part in from the off once more on Thursday night, as Barcelona made the trip to Mestalla for a Copa del Rey quarter-final clash.
And, en route to a 5-0 drubbing of Valencia, the 22-year-old dazzled once more.
Excelling from his berth in the middle of the park, Pedri controlled proceedings with remarkable ease, also laying on a sumptuous assist for Fermín López to put Barca three goals in front.
Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, it therefore came as little surprise when the continued excellence of his engine room standout was put to Hansi Flick.
And the Blaugrana’s headmaster made use of the opportunity to lavish praise on Pedri once more:
“Pedri is incredible. You can’t compare him to any other midfielder, he’s one of the best in his position… He enjoys playing football, having the ball, he always wants it… I’m very happy.”
