Hansi Flick has chosen Barcelona’s leading goalkeeper target | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has informed those in a position of power at the club of his preferred target to reinforce his ranks between the posts.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Wojciech Szczęsny as the player in question.

It is of course now common knowledge across the Spanish football landscape that Barcelona have dipped back into the market, in search of a new goalkeeper.

As much comes after no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen was ruled out for what is expected to be the remainder of the campaign.

A whole host of free agent shot-stoppers, in turn, have been tipped as potential arrivals in Catalunya’s capital.

One name, though, has on Tuesday overtaken all others, to take his place as the clear frontrunner to make the move to the Camp Nou.

The player in question? The aforementioned Wojciech Szczęsny.

As per a report from Sport, Szczęsny, who retired over the summer following the termination of his contract with Juventus, has emerged as the ‘priority’ target to reinforce Barcelona’s goalkeeper options.

The Pole, crucially, has the backing of Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, who is a long-time fan of Szczęsny’s.

Contacts, in turn, have been initiated between the parties over a potential season-long joining of forces.
