Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of star defender Pau Cubarsí.
This of course comes amid ongoing uncertainty when it comes to the youngster’s participation in the club’s next outing.
Cubarsí was the recipient of a heavy blow to the face whilst lining out in the Champions League in midweek, which saw the 17-year-old hooked early in the 2nd-half against Red Star Belgrade.
After a considerable gash opened up on his cheek, the stopper was sewn up with nine stitches, since spotted in training on Saturday sporting a custom facial mask.
After the issue proved enough to see Cubarsí left out of the Spanish national team squad by Luis de la Fuente, Hansi Flick was inevitably asked for an update on the situation during his latest pre-match press conference this afternoon.
Barca are set to make the trip to San Sebastian for a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad tomorrow night.
And the club’s headmaster remains hopeful that, in the end, Cubarsí will be given the medical green light to feature:
