Hansi Flick provides Robert Lewandowski injury update before Barcelona’s trip to Villarreal | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of attacking star Robert Lewandowski.

This comes amid confirmation that the Pole will be available to play his part against Villarreal on Sunday.

Frontman Lewandowski for his part failed to secure a single minute of playing time in either of Barcelona’s last two fixtures.

As much came with the former Bayern Munich man having been struggling with a pair of niggling fitness issues.

Speaking during his latest pre-match press conference on Saturday, the subject of Lewandowski’s current status was therefore put to manager Hansi Flick.

And Barca’s headmaster went on to confirm that the 37-year-old has fully recovered, therefore available for selection to face Villarreal in the Blaugrana’s final fixture of 2025 on Sunday:

“Lewandowski? He’s ready to play, and he’s an option available for tomorrow. In the Copa del Rey, we didn’t want to take risks. He can play now, and this is good news.”
