Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has discussed his future at the club, insisting he is very happy with his job and life, but revealing a new multi-year contract is not in his thinking.

Flick signed a two-year deal when he succeeded Xavi last summer and looks increasingly likely to deliver La Liga glory in his first year at the club. Barca are additionally in with an excellent chance of claiming a first Champions League title in a decade.

Flick will soon enter the final 12 months of his contract. But while he has every desire to remain at Barca, he would be more than happy with signing new one-year extensions annually.

"I truly appreciate and enjoy what I have here. I have a fantastic staff, my assistants are incredible, the physios, doctors...the players are very professional and train very hard and with the mentality of improving day by day," Flick told reporters at his latest press conference.

"This is unique in my career. The atmosphere is fantastic. This is a family. All the club employees are fantastic. Plus, I have a good time, I enjoy Barcelona and the people. I'm very happy living here, along with my wife. It's a new experience, so I have a lot of energy left, and I'm thinking about what we can do to improve because there's a lot of potential. We're just starting this project now, and what's happening is fantastic.

"I'm not a coach who wants to sign for three more years and think my future is secured, I have my own mentality. I like working for this club, the best in the world, and I really appreciate what I have. I know the club's situation, and it's not easy.

"That's the situation now, one year and we'll see what happens, step by step, year by year. If we're still happy, it's another year. I'd like to finish the job I do on a high note. If my assistants are happy, I'm happy too. We have to stay focused and concentrate on what's left of the season."
