Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Monday spoken out on the visible frustration displayed by a number of his players during the club’s most recent outing.
Barcelona were of course back in action on Saturday evening, welcoming Celta Vigo to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana took another step towards the title in Spain’s top-flight, owing to a remarkable comeback 4-3 triumph.
And yet, along the way, several leading members of Hansi Flick’s squad could not help but allow their anger to show.
As confirmed by Mundo Deportivo, all of Ansu Fati, Héctor Fort, Ferran Torres and Fermín López were spotted showcasing varying degrees of frustration on the bench, owing to their respective minutes on the pitch (or rather lack thereof).
Speaking to the media during his latest press conference on Monday, the subject of such public displays of displeasure on the part of his players was therefore put to Hansi Flick.
And Barca’s headmaster was firm in his response:
“Do I understand the reactions of those who played less on Saturday? No, not like that. I can’t understand that. For me, you have to accept this situation. I think we made the right decisions, and that’s what the players should see.”
Flick continued:
“And of course, now when they participate in matches, we want to see the right reaction. What I’d love to see most is the reaction on the pitch when they get the chance to play. That’s what I need to see.”
