Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed that the presence of one particular member of his squad ensured that he did not feel the need to fret in the closing exchanges of the club’s latest outing.

Flick is for his part of course fresh off adding to his silverware cabinet for the latest occasion.

After guiding Barcelona to the finale of the Spanish Super Cup courtesy of a 5-0 drubbing of Athletic Club, the Blaugrana were pitted against arch rivals Real Madrid.

And when all was said and done, for the 2nd year running, Barca held their nerve to retain their Supercopa crown.

The Catalans’ eventual triumph did not come without its scares along the way, as Real Madrid repeatedly threatened an equaliser inside the game’s closing moments.

As alluded to above, though, one individual who was not at all worried by as much was Hansi Flick himself.

Drawn on the Super Cup’s hectic final minutes during his pre-match press conference ahead of facing off with Racing Club in the Copa del Rey tomorrow evening, Barcelona’s headmaster on Wednesday explained:

“With Joan García in goal, I’m calm.”
