Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has reportedly highlighted Ademola Lookman as a strong and financially feasible option to strengthen the club’s wing position, claims a report from TV3.

The outlet mentions that Lookman, who scored 20 goals and seven assists this season, has emerged as a consistent name as a potential addition to Barcelona’s attack since March.

While his exact price tag remains uncertain, with conflicting reports suggesting a figure ranging from €30 million to €60 million, the fact of the matter is that Barcelona are keen on signing a player to reinforce the wing position.

It is to be noted that Lookman’s contract with Atalanta runs until 2026, putting Barcelona in a favourable position to negotiate a financially viable deal.

Although there have been no official talks over a transfer yet, sources confirm that the player is highly regarded within the club.

For that matter, though, Barcelona’s next steps depend on the financial conditions, with the final decision ultimately resting on whether the club can secure the necessary funds, especially after Joan Garcia’s signing.

Competition heating up for Lookman

For what it is worth, any potential move for Lookman is complicated by interest from several top European clubs.

Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus are all reportedly keeping a close eye on the winger, with each club looking to bolster their attacking options.

This increased competition could drive the price up and complicate negotiations for Barcelona.

Barcelona exploring other options as well

In addition to Lookman, Barcelona are also considering other attacking options, such as Luis Diaz of Liverpool and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.

However, Diaz comes with a hefty price tag, making him a less likely target, while Rashford, although eager to join Barcelona, would occupy a significant portion of the club’s salary cap.

These factors could ultimately push Barcelona towards a more budget-friendly option like Lookman.

With other big clubs in the race, Barcelona need to act swiftly to secure the necessary financial backing, which will be key in determining whether Lookman becomes the latest addition to their squad.
