Hansi Flick talks Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Ballon d’Or after Barcelona 5-1 Feyenoord | OneFootball

As was the case with La Liga, FC Barcelona also opened their UEFA Champions League campaign with an emphatic win, defeating the Dutch side Feyenoord 5-1 at the Spotify Camp Nou.

The win and the team’s performance left Hansi Flick quite pleased, and he expressed his happiness with these aspects as he addressed a press conference after the match.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Barcelona coach expressed his satisfaction with the atmosphere in the dressing room:

“There is a good atmosphere in the team. I’m happy for Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.”

The German coach was quite clear that Lamine Yamal, who scored one of the five goals in this match, deserves to win the Ballon d’Or:

Flick believed Raphinha should also have been on the Ballon d’Or list:

“We are working very well, very hard, and we have quality on the ball. We can improve and we have to do so.”

The German coach also expressed satisfaction with the squad he has at his disposal:

“There is great quality in the squad, and there is a lot of quality in every position. We make changes and the team continues with the same idea of what we want to do.”

Flick again reiterated the desire to see further improvements in his team:

“I like what I see, but there are things we have to improve, and that is what we do in training: analyze things to try to become even better. I’m very, very happy, but there is always room for improvement.”

The Barcelona coach highlighted how his team can adapt to different situations:

“We can make changes in every situation. We have many different situations with several players: when we have to transition, when we have to control… We have also scored from a direct free kick, and that was fabulous.”

When asked to compare his team’s performance with that of Real Madrid against Inter Milan, Flick refused to draw a comparison and again highlighted his own side’s merits:

“I’m very happy to be able to talk only about enjoying ourselves, because I’m the coach of Barça and I’m happy to be here. In the first five matches, we have scored many goals, and we also play as a team and control the game. That is the style we want, and I think people are enjoying it.”

Despite the good start to the season, the German coach reminded everyone that it is only the start:
