A lot can be said about Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona, for both the right and wrong reasons, but one thing they have become synonymous with in recent times is their penchant for scoring goals. Most games involving the Catalan side have been high-scoring.
The German manager has unlocked an attack that seemed to be playing within itself under Xavi Hernandez. Even in the recent game against Alaves, they managed to score three goals despite looking far from their best.
According to Mundo Deportivo, with that display, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona have equalled their fifth-longest league scoring streak, reaching 34 consecutive matches with at least one goal.
With this, Flick equals Pep Guardiola, whose team also scored in 34 successive games. The legendary manager also holds fourth place, with 35 games.
Third place goes to a relatively unknown name to the modern generation, Juan Jose Nogues, whose team recorded a 36-game streak between November 1942 and February 1944. The silver medal goes to Ernesto Valverde, with 37 between February 2018 and February 2019.
First place goes to a succession of coaches, Pep, Tito Vilanova, Jordi Roura, and Tata Martino, who, between them, oversaw a run of 63 consecutive games in which the team scored. That is quite a streak.
The last time Flick’s Barcelona failed to score was against Leganes in December 2024, when they succumbed to a 1–0 defeat. Let us see how long the German coach and his team can keep this streak going, and whether the wins keep coming along with the goals.
