Three games into his senior career, Barcelona youngster Marc Bernal was dealt a severe setback as he suffered an ACL injury during the game against Rayo Vallecano.

Just 17 years old, the midfield prodigy had established himself as a regular starter at the start of the season under Hansi Flick and was making a great impression before injury struck him down.

Having undergone surgery to treat the ACL injury, Bernal is now out for a year and will only return in the next season.

Now, Catalunya Radio has come forward with a report revealing the heartfelt gesture Hansi Flick made for Marc Bernal following his surgery.

The La Masia gem underwent surgery on September 9 and spent several days in the hospital. During his stay, he received a very special visit from the Barcelona head coach.

As per the report, Flick spent a considerable amount of time in Bernal’s room, talking to him and encouraging him.

The German tactician even brought a thoughtful gift: a self-help book titled “How to Overcome Limits,” which offers advice on navigating difficult moments.

What made the gift particularly special was the heartfelt dedication inside the book. Flick expressed sincere encouragement for Bernal’s recovery, urging him not to worry about the time he would miss, as the most important thing was to return strong.

The manager emphasised that Bernal has the potential to become one of the great players of the future. These words deeply touched the youngster, who expressed his gratitude for Flick’s support.

Bernal is currently recovering from the surgery following a challenging post-operative period marked by significant pain. Fortunately, he is now feeling better.

Although Bernal resides at La Masia, Barcelona decided it was best for him to stay in a hotel room, near the sports city, accompanied by his mother, during this time of limited mobility.
