Following Wednesday’s painful defeat to PSG, Barcelona must reset quickly and refocus on Sunday’s visit to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to face Sevilla in La Liga.

A win would be vital, ensuring Hansi Flick’s side go into the international break as league leaders regardless of Real Madrid’s result against Villarreal on Saturday.

It will not be an easy task against a Sevilla side that has gained resilience under new coach Matias Almeyda. However, Hansi Flick’s men are clear favourites, provided they can shake off the frustration of their midweek collapse.

According to SPORT, Flick is expected to rotate his side after the physical and emotional toll of the PSG match.

Robert Lewandowski, benched in midweek, is likely to return to the starting XI. Marcus Rashford, who has played several matches in a row, could be rested.

Selection doubts for Flick

One of the major selection dilemmas for Flick comes in midfield, though, where he might consider resting Pedri or Frenkie de Jong, who have been playing relentlessly.

In that case, Marc Casado would step into the team, as he continues to push for minutes. However, deciding who to rest between Pedri and De Jong, or whether even to give them a break represents a major question for the manager.

Another major question mark remains over Eric Garcia, a key figure for Flick this season, who finished the PSG match with significant fatigue.

The Spaniard was one of Barcelona’s best players vs PSG, and has become a key pillar of Flick’s team. But with Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen waiting in the wings, a change could be on the cards.

The left-back position will also be up for ddebate. Alejandro Balde returned from his injury layoff vs PSG, but still lacks some rhythm.

But Gerard Martin has had a heavy workload in recent weeks, making a case for a possible change on the flank.

Chance for the youngsters?

Hansi Flick handed Dro his official debut against Real Sociedad last week in the No. 10 role, and he could be an option again, especially with Dani Olmo struggling for form.

Another young talent waiting for his big break is Toni Fernandez, a player that the manager rates very highly and has named in all matchday squads.

Thr teenage academy gem can add a sense of creativity and flair in attack and will be hoping for a chance to come his way.
