Barcelona pulled out one of their best Champions League performances in recent times as they secured a 4-1 victory over Bayern Munich.

The result at Montjuic was an ideal revenge for the Catalans, who had slumped to a 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern not more than four years ago.

However, a 4-1 victory over Bayern require more than just goals from Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. It required a well-concentrated and calibrated effort from all the eleven players on the pitch.

Hansi Flick asks dressing room to rest

As reported by AS, Barcelona players were extremely exhausted after their win over Bayern Munich last night.

The team was so exhausted that some players felt the exhaustion even 12 hours after the clash. Hansi Flick, for his part, is well aware of his players’ exhaustion.

That is why the German has sent out a clear message to the dressing room after the Bayern Munich win: “It’s time to rest up, sleep well and recover.”

Indeed, Flick decided to ease the intensity in the post-match training session, knowing some of his players could risk overload.

No time to lose

Unfortunately for Barcelona, there is no time to lose as the Catalans are set to take on Real Madrid in the much-awaited Clasico this weekend.

Some may argue this could be a more important game for Barcelona. That is because a Real Madrid win could erase Barcelona’s lead at the top of the table.

The Blaugrana cannot afford to do that, especially after enjoying one of the best of starts to a La Liga season in quite some time.

The onus will be on Flick and it will be interesting to see how the German plans to approach Real Madrid, who were inadvertently given a word of advice from Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane heading into this game.
