A true icon of Italian football, whose charisma and determination shaped the league for decades, Giovanni Trapattoni was one of the most influential coaches in Inter’s history.

Born in Cusano Milanino on March 17 1939, Trap joined Inter's dugout in the summer of 1986, remaining at the Club for five years filled with victories and unforgettable success. Under his guidance, the club wrote some of the most memorable chapters in its history, beginning with the famous Scudetto dei Record won in the 1988/89 season. It was a triumphant campaign, secured with 58 points out of 68 available by an extraordinary squad packed with champions who became fan favourites among the Nerazzurri supporters. The success was followed by victory in the Supercoppa Italiana and a European triumph in the 1990-91 UEFA Cup, won after an all-Italian two-legged final against AS Roma.
