Harry Kane became the sole 10th highest scorer in international football after striking in England’s World Cup opener against Croatia on Wednesday.
The Bayern Munich striker, 32, opened the scoring from the spot in the 12th minute, converting at the second attempt after Dominik Livakovic moved early to save his first kick.
That penalty was his 80th international goal.
He added a header shortly before half-time, taking him to 81 in 115 caps and moving him into 10th place outright.
The all-time list is led by Cristiano Ronaldo on 143 in 229 for Portugal, followed by Lionel Messi on 120 and Ali Daei on 109.
Kane now has 10 World Cup goals, joining Gary Lineker as England’s joint top scorer at the tournament.
