Vincent Kompany's side took the lead in the first-half through Michael Olise, as the ball fell to him in space and he found the far corner with his weaker foot.

Luis Díaz then made it two with a goal on his league debut after he was picked out by Serge Gnabry.

Before the break, Olise secured his brace, with Gnabry once again the provider, picking out the Frenchman in the box, who made no mistake from close range.

Harry Kane finally got in on the action in the second-half with a goal a little after the hour mark.

Díaz went from goalscorer to creator as he bided his time before picking out Kane on the overlap, with the England international taking it onto his right foot and firing home.

Leipzig thought they had pulled a goal back a few minutes later when Jonathan Tah failed to clear properly, allowing Johan Bakayoko to gain possession before laying it off for Antonio Nusa to score.

It was eventually ruled out following a VAR intervention, and in a sucker-punch blow for the visitors, Kane then scored his second of the game, once again set up by Díaz.

If that wasn't enough for Bayern, Kane then completed his hat-trick with a left-footed effort.

Overall, it was a dream start to the season for Kompany’s side, while for Ole Werner there is plenty to ponder after such a heavy defeat.
