Harry Kane sends ‘clear signal’ over new Bayern Munich contract | OneFootball

Bayern Munich are confident that Harry Kane will sign a new contract at the club.

Kane has been phenomenal for Bayern since joining them from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023.

The England captain has scored 146 goals in 147 appearances, including an incredible 61 goals across all competitions in the 2025-26 campaign.

Kane has won two Bundesliga titles with Bayern and wants to stay at the club to win more trophies.

Harry Kane future: Will he sign a new Bayern Munich contract?

There have been suggestions that Kane might be tempted to return to the Premier League, with the intention of breaking Alan Shearer’s goal scoring records.

However, Christian Falk has informed CFBayern Insider that Kane has given “clear signal” that he wants to stay at Bayern and win trophies.

Falk said: “There was a former Tottenham manager who once claimed that Harry Kane has an idea of coming back to England to compete for Alan Shearer’s goal record in the Premier League. I can concretely say that this is not true. He’s not so keen on the goal record and would prefer to get titles with Bayern Munich. Kane has sent this clear signal to the club. I heard from a prominent source involved in the negotiations that Harry loves Bayern Munich, and Bayern Munich loves Harry Kane. So, a solution will be found. At the moment, he’s on holiday in the Caribbean. He had his birthday on Tuesday (Happy Birthday, Harry!).

“It’s good for the English national team if the 33-year-old wants to play in the Euros in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. But he also saw Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo playing at the World Cup. They were still able to make an impact and score goals. This is why Kane has an idea in his head to play in the next World Cup in 2030, as he desperately wants this title. To do this, of course, you need to have a contract with a top club. It’s unlikely that he’d still have a key role with the England squad if he’s playing football in Saudi Arabia like Ronaldo! There were, of course, one or two players in the squad who perhaps defy this, but when you’re the captain of the English national team, you should play in a top league. Harry Kane shares that belief.”

Harry Kane future: Terms of the new deal

Falk adds that the 33-year-old will be offered a minimum two-year contract extension.

His current deal expires in 2027, and Kane is expected to extend his stay until 2029. The England striker is expected to earn around €25m gross per year and will certainly not be asked to take a pay cut.

Bayern will return from their Asian tour on August 8, after which direct negotiations with Kane over a new contract are expected to begin.

Falk added: “This is why Kane is looking for a long-term contract. So, the question now is how long of a contract are we talking about? I heard that both sides are clear on the matter – there will be a contract on the table offering a minimum two-year extension (until 2029).

“His current terms run out in 2027. The next question is how much the Englishman wants to earn with his new contract. Both sides are also clear on this: he should earn about €25m gross per year. He won’t earn less on the new contract. But it’s easier to say that he can stay on this amount if he gets handed one more year on his contract, or perhaps Harry Kane will get more money if he’s agreeing to a shorter-term contract.

“Direct negotiations will start when Harry Kane returns to Bayern Munich after the Asian tour. Bayern will be back on August 8, and then negotiations can officially begin.”
