Leeds United have opened their summer window by signing Harry Wilson on a four-year deal. The Wales international left Fulham at the end of his contract and arrives as a free agent after 10 goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League matches last season.
Much of this summer’s business is likely to come after the World Cup, but Leeds moved quickly for Wilson and were hoping to do the same with midfield target Shea Charles. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, two bids for Charles, the latter worth £23 million plus add-ons, have reportedly been rejected by Southampton, with talks continuing.
With Karl Darlow set to join Manchester United, at least one goalkeeper will be required. A few names are liked in that department.
A dream starting XI has been sketched out for the opening-weekend trip to Nottingham Forest, should certain targets be signed. The exercise reflects how the squad could line up if key deals are completed.
Wilson’s capture provides early momentum. Further movement could follow as negotiations develop and the window unfolds.
