Yui Hasegawa was on target to help Japan beat India 11-0 in their second group game win of the Asian Cup.
Japan instantly set the tone for proceedings, needing just four minutes to find what would be the first of many in Perth.
A fantastic ranged shot from Yuzuki Yamamoto flew into the top left corner before Hasegawa’s first-time finish from the edge of the six-yard box doubled Japan’s lead on 13 minutes.
India struggled to get the ball out of their own half, and would later fail to register a shot on target, with the two-time Asian Cup winners enjoying their football.
Hasegawa, who captained her nation, then set up Hinata Miyazawa for her first of three on 20 minutes before she got her second shortly after the half hour.
Japan made it five just before the break, with Kiko Seike converting from the penalty spot.
Hasegawa made way for fresh legs at half-time with her job complete, and she got to enjoy the rest of the match which saw six more goals.
Riko Ueki continued proceedings on 47 minutes and quickly made it seven on the 50-minute mark.
Goals from Seike and Maya Hijikata quickly followed before Ueki completed her hat-trick.
Miyazawa scored Japan’s final goal of the game on 81 minutes, also securing her trio of goals, to confirm an outstanding 11-0 win.
Ayaka Yamashita, Aoba Fujino and Risa Shimizu, on loan at Liverpool, were all unused substitutes and will be hoping to be involved in Japan’s next group game which will see them take on Vietnam at 09:00 (UK) on Tuesday 10 March.
