Arsenal completed their final session at London Colney before facing Leeds United this afternoon, with a Kai Havertz lift, a Cristhian Mosquera question and hints over Mikel Arteta’s line-up.
According to football.london, rotation for Wednesday’s Champions League win over Kairat meant most regulars enjoyed two full sessions, while Havertz’s 45-minute start brought a goal and an assist, his first start in almost 12 months after two injuries.
Havertz trained fully on Friday, easing fears of a repeat lay-off after a longer outing. Arteta said the German is ready after that start, there was no adverse reaction and his workload will be managed, adding the impact he can have was clear. Arsenal also published images of him working hard.
Arteta reported no new issues on Wednesday, yet Mosquera did not feature in the training images from pitch or gym. He played the full match against Kairat after six weeks out and, with Riccardo Calafiori only pictured in the gym, Mosquera may simply be on a managed schedule and could still make the squad.
Training footage suggested selection clues, with several likely starters bibless on the same side, including Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice. Jurrien Timber, Bukayo Saka and David Raya are also anticipated to feature, while Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyokeres are competing up front. Havertz, also without a bib, could even be used as the striker.
