Silva left at the end of the 2023/2024 season after four years at the club, in which he won the Champions League.

The Blues arguably still haven’r replaced Silva, and lack that leadership and experience in the backline, which is no doubt one of the reasons they’ve made so many mistakes defensively this season.

With such a young squad, a figure like Silva was absolutely vital both on and off the pitch, and so many players have spoken about what they learnt from him.

That void, especially off the pitch hasn’t been filled, and Chelsea’s most experienced centre back is now Tosin Adarabioyo.

Former Blue Cole has revealed what Disasi, who’s now on loan at West Ham told him about Silva, and the impact he had at the club.

“He basically said that Thiago Silva, when he was there [at Chelsea] was the voice of reason, like the big brother, the uncle,” he told The Dressing Room Podcast.

“And then when he left that, all kind of went cause there was no experience to lean on.

“So they’re all leaning on each other, and they’re not experienced enough to lean on each other.”

The Blues are thought to be in the market for a centre back this summer, and really need someone to come in and lead the backline.

Chelsea have recently been linked with Murillo, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Blues make a move for the Brazilian.

Murillo could be available at a cut price if Nottingham Forest get relegated, but he’s likely to attract interest from a number of clubs.
