In an interview with Téléfoot, France boss Didier Deschamps was asked whether he believes Paul Pogba (31) has the ability to get back to his best after serving an 18-month ban.
Pogba has been forced to train on his own since he received an initial 4-year ban after a drug test found a banned substance within his bloodstream. This ban was later reduced to 18 months, and the midfielder has now been cleared to play football again. The former Manchester United midfielder is a free agent following the termination of his contract with Juventus.
Despite being able to play professional football again, the France international midfielder is still without a club. The 31-year-old was given clearance to play on 11th March, and with the summer transfer window fast approaching, rumours are heightening over where the World Cup winner will go.
When asked about what the future held for the free agent, Deschamps issued a vote of confidence, “Obviously, we have a strong relationship after everything we have experienced together. He has the mental strength to return to the highest level, but it’s his career; it’s up to him to decide.”
