Last weekend, Tanguy Ndombélé (28) played his first minutes since February. The Frenchman came off the bench for OGC Nice in a 1-0 defeat against SCO Angers. It has been a long way back for Ndombélé, who has been struggling with a pubalgia issue. Even prior to his last game, which came on 23rd February, the former Tottenham Hotspur man had been struggling with the issue and had seen his minutes limited as a result.
Having come off the bench against Angers, he then started against SC Braga in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night. Post-match, Franck Haise reacted to Ndombélé’s long-awaited return to the pitch.
“On a technical level, he will always be up to the standard; he’ll be 50, and he will still be technical. But football is about being able to play at high intensity for as long as possible. He is our best technician. There is not only technique in life, but it is a good base,” said Haise in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
