Derby County boss Paul Warne revealed that Crystal Palace loanee David Ozoh is upset after suffering an injury at the weekend and he added that the Rams will miss him as he is a key part of their squad.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined Derby on loan this summer and has established himself as a regular in Warne’s starting line-up.

Warne admitted that he is not aware of the severity of the injury to Ozoh, but revealed that the young Crystal Palace star is upset.

The Derby boss highlighted that his team will miss Ozoh in the upcoming games as he has become an important part of their midfield and is hoping that the youngster will get better soon.

“I think he is obviously upset. I do not know if he has had that injury before”, Warne told Rams TV.

“I think he has done his hamstring; it could be anything.

“I don’t want to guess how severe it is, but he was quite upset.

“But young lads do get upset when they get injuries because they think the world has fallen down, so it is disappointing to lose him.

“He is a massive part of our midfield, so in fairness, everyone just slots in, there is no drama, that sounds awful on the side of the pitch, but it is just next man up, like you cannot cry about it; just let’s see who can and that is the joy of having the squad that everyone can compete in.

“Hopefully it will not be too severe, but it might be a couple of weeks and we might not see him this side of the next international break, but hopefully it is not that bad.”

Ozoh has featured in all five games for Derby this season and it remains to be seen how long he will be out of action.
