Hearts, with Braga, await Benfica or St. Gallen after Champions League exit | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica could face Hearts in the Europa League third qualifying round if they overturn St. Gallen, after Tuesday’s draw put the Scottish side in their path.

Before looking ahead, Marco Silva’s team must reverse a 2-1 first-leg deficit from Switzerland. The return is at Estádio da Luz on Thursday from 20:00.

Hearts dropped into Europa League qualifying after a Champions League exit to Sturm Graz. They lost 4-0 in Austria, then 2-0 in Edinburgh, with Simon Seidl scoring both goals for the visitors.

The Edinburgh club, featuring the Portuguese Cláudio Braga, will await the winners of Benfica versus St. Gallen to learn their third-qualifying-round opponents.

Reaching the Europa League’s league phase would still not be secured at that stage, as victors must also navigate a play-off to enter the main competition. For now, Benfica’s focus is firmly on beating St. Gallen.
